exercise band in two patterns to create some incredible changes in your swing and in your body so what we're trying to do here is exaggerate a movement so that your body adapts and your swing can adapt with you so one of those is going to be the backswing pump drill which is going to allow us to create a massive big rotation and a big wide swing out for your backswing okay create the most amount of distance between your lead foot your trail arm creating a really solid backswing so that when we then rotate down we can pump it and we can get the power into impact number two is going to be the swingland drill and that is going to be all about your footwork guys all right so let's get right to it the backswing plum drum so you're going to need a band affix to a high point okay and although we are looking at obviously changing your golf swing performance always work both sides okay we're trying to create balance throughout the body the more balanced you are the more stable you are the more power you can create but also your longevity is going to be increased as well okay so here we're gonna take our posture and what we're looking to do is use the band to increase our end range of motion that's where the exit exaggeration comes in and because you have that resistance you have a fixed point of external resistance your body is going to be able to perceive that you're going to be able to feel it and that's where you can start to really build it into your swing okay so you're going to take that posture nice and high get some tension in there and from that point on we're gonna resist against the ground you're gonna let the band pull you into an extended rotation position and then you're gonna pump it on the way down drive through your trail foot turn the hips and keep that car really solid as you work goodness moving so what you should feel here is that as you start to load up you're going to create that solid trail side you're going to load into the hip but the band is going to pull you away so you create that extra range of motion exit again exaggeration for adaptation allow it to pull you into a certain position that you maybe haven't been before and that's where the changes you need are going to come from okay also because we're using that resistance on the way down we're increasing our separation from upper and lower body and that's the x factor that's where some of that power is going to come in so if we look at this relative to the gear these changes to your body to your feel and to what you're trying to achieve can go straight into your swing okay so this is something I'm working on myself I want to get more high I'm going to get a bigger wider backswing arc and that drill is going to get it done okay so we take our posture basically what we've got to think about is that band pulling us away while staying super stable in the lower body so as we do so we can get the hands high with a big wide backswing position and you can see we're matching up so we want to try and reach as far as we can trying to create that width with the club getting as far away from our center line as possible that's going to give us time in the dancer it's going to give us the room to really shadow the club out dropping into a great position and then power on as we do with that pump okay so same thing you want to feel as though imagine that resistance trying to pull us into that best position and then try and pull against it so we start to load and pressure from the ground that creates that sequence and that's where the swing is at all right so let me take one away right here we'll look in a big high back swing and then pump it into impact movement number two is going to be the swing mandrel okay so here we are looking to exaggerate our footwork our ground reaction forces and how we then propel the club throughout that sequence and pushing through the ground guys all right so here we're just going to light up that footwork guys all right so you might have seen the swing before but basically we're going to go baseball staff we're really going to wind it up again work both sides but with that natural resistance we're going to load up we're going to plant and then once we've planted that lead foot we'll need to push into the ground on the lead side really fire through your core and then rotate as much as you can through the upper body and into the extremity alright so all about the footwork max it out so in exaggerating that sequence you're giving yourself that adapt adaptation that we're looking for which is forward on the trail side pressure in the ground through that trail foot gripping the ground with your toes transferring through into that lead side as we planned we should feel that push that's where we rotate and that's when we snap through into the extremities which obviously is the band there and it's gonna be the club when we get to the swing so you can directly reproduce that footwork on the range as long as you're pretty comfortable you might see a couple of wild shots but basically that's what we're trying to bring into the swing so as we go into that backswing we're trying to fully load up onto that trail foot you're going to feel the torque underneath you're going to feel like you're pressuring into there and we're going to load into that lead foot okay as we do so that's when we're going to feel the pressure go back into the trip into the lead side we're pushing to the ground and that sequencing is what's going to allow you to create that snap speed through the clubhead okay so load transfer and then just let it fly so we've got two drills there you can use those anywhere whether you're at home whether you're warming up before you go to the course at the course or in the gym what you are looking to do is use the band for that feedback that proprioceptive feel that is going to allow you to understand the movement pans and kinematic sequences that you maybe don't use right now okay so using that external resistance you can extend the range of motion you can create more end range activation and then you can create more contractile force potential power output potential basically juice up your golf swing all right so we're going to increase the range of the back swing we're going to improve our separation from upper and lower body and then we're going to absolutely max out our footwork for your ground reaction forces put those together and you're going to get some gains on the course guys all right so try these two out make sure you understand how you're going to put them into your swing work on the body work on the game and go strong all right remember tell your friends subscribe to the channel and join the strongest community
