The Driver - Tour Issue Golf Club Fitting Part 2 - Studio & the Range

Welcome back part two hope you enjoyed part one guys where we looked all the way through the irons the two iron the three wood you got into the specifics now it's all about the driver [Music] [Applause] ah now you know I've probably played this shaft for a long time like a really long time probably must be about two or three years now hazardous smoke green 70 tx super stable people are launched that's what I play all right I've got the stealth plus currently we switched the 10. 5 cranked all the way down so the face is open playing at 90 degrees and this is the current standard guys right so I'm going to get baseline numbers like we did last time then we're gonna check out every single shaft we can get our hands on to see how far we can go so this is what I've mentioned to mike a lot of last couple of weeks I don't like that spin I know that one's turned over left but in general I do think and out on the golf course we only spin the ball a hell of a lot here we're going down so exactly where we are exactly what I say every time me and mike play and every time we hit balls in here it just doesn't spin right for me we've tried different heads we've tried 10 degrees cranked down to 90 degrees we've tried seven degrees it was cranked up I just feel we understand by a good five six hundred times to test a few things out right guys I'm gonna go in a polar opposite from where mike is at the minute we're still going tx we're still going super firm in flex but we're going to di6 and this is going to be a lot more spinning it's going to be way too much spin for mike but what we're going to do is just show you what the shaft was different and show mike where spin's going to get him on the course all right let's see where it goes tagging here exactly what club mike's sitting so let me go to my magic box if this suits I will eat my app but we're just going to show different spin and different performances of a shaft there we go exactly what I was looking for when we went into this different shaft straight away we've got 700 spin 700 spin is massive for where mike is at the minute with his game let's sit through a wall let's see some bass numbers it's solid I'm not getting the head back to square he's not the reason he's not getting back to square guys is because I know the shifting right for him he probably can feel that when he's swinging it he's a hell of a lot behind him when he's loading that shaft just ain't keeping him left this one that's what we mean left one more in this and we'll go somewhere I do see mike going chef wires it's good to see the difference in performance someone's no left yep let's click out right guys we're gonna put him exactly where I think would work we're going to juventus black 7x low launch low spin and it just so happens to be the shaft everybody wants and then tiger rocks up at the opening hey how's that work let's go let's go velo 7x held up there solid put the spin not only the spin that we had for you guys to see on the camera but the head just stayed with him at all points throughout that swing could you feel that mike yeah right in between the two so obviously the hulk is super stable the di had too much feel this is stable got a little bit more pop to it now never sway it good on youtube man oh we got the spin that's been going left some achievement even on the bad swings though look how they look at the stability of the shift look how it holds up a little bit better looper [ __ ] hit it even though when some swinger shoes on this look at the spin exactly what I'm wanting out of mike's golf game especially the driver two four screen I wanna be looking at two six right two four central two left if we can work on them brackets we know on bad swings we ain't gonna miss a fairway that's a gold shot one good swing in the right shaft look where we are if you saw where he was before in the hulk yeah we could hit all these numbers here that means control the golf ball off the tee and we're still going from 40 yards [Music] golf shot hey numbers are good and trust me and you're probably having some real issues with it in your head with your golf game but even then even though you're not hitting it I can see that shaft is working numbers wise for me it's a massive improvement from where you're at with the hulk all right what we're going to do here now just for this fitting now and we're doing all the fittings mike's going to pass from this club over we're going to look at the swing weight and I'm going to see what we can do to help tune this up because I don't think we're a million miles away here so we spoke about earlier on mike likes his drivers around the d4 bracket he's irons around the d6 bracket his driver sometimes when you lighten it sometimes he feels like he's hitting it a little bit left so it's at d4 now we're gonna have a little change changing weight I'm gonna pump it up to d5 I wanna find my tools quick stop guys need a leak and I needed to feed a little frustrated how much shape we're getting on it guys I gotta go buddy [Music] ah it's my swing basically when I'm not swinging it's good talked about before but do not load that trail side as well hands gonna get all out and then just we're stuck inside all right so I'm trying to figure that out the chef's definitely helping keep it in the air basically again you hit a hook with two little spins as we talked about it's not going to launch at all you know minimize control we're going to go further left alright so low 180s on ball speed club speeds okay again swing is not where I want it to be but we still got a few reps in the tank so another couple of tweaks here trying to work on the swing weight looking at different shafts looking at different options I need to hit the middle more solid contact even through all these bad shots in this shaft at the minute one thing that's always working you're getting exactly what you want spin wise yeah it's not what I want but it's not off the cusp not exactly so it's playable when you're not playing well and you're only ever as good as your bad shot on instagram I'm as good as my best shot that 315 320 carry it's where I want to be on the course but with some control so let's see if I get one actually starting on center line up close [Music] all right guys whilst I'm having a little swing break down and try a few different shafts all right so staying at the same kind of profile that tx obviously again we're looking to launch a little bit better the youtube driver curse continues we're just looking for that right feel the right swing and then we're gonna just looking for the tiny little incremental differences we like the ventus probably come back around but let's change wanted to kick that face and rotate him all right the reason why I've done that I've put him here I've left this head the weights in from what we had in the 7x velico now in this shaft that's giving us a swing weight of d7 oh it's exactly what mike just said the d7 means it's heavy in the head so when he loads it'll feel like it's a real kick from the shaft that's a chef struggling to come to be able to do that headway at them speed do you feel like the head's a little bit too much weight before the kicking point in the shot probably do you if that's where you felt it all in your hands but then the weight was all in the head and that's the point of the shaft not being able to basically swing at them speeds and keep focusing the timing is a bit different on that straight shot right now is a straight push but it's a bit of flight the feel actually is pretty good still 320 total man's three four years man I expected me dropping weights over there guys lower that swing weight down slightly so it's going to reduce his back weight from an 8 gram weight to a 4 gram weight get that swing weight to where we feel it needs to be so the shaft can take it at low drop that back weight by 4 grams it should bring our swing weight down just where we want it we go d5 time to see let's swing as much as this chef says it's a 60 tx it can't keep up with you matt no it's it doesn't like it's got a real it's done a little bit active yeah very active and for someone who doesn't like to flick it left this chef bottle looks to me when you're swinging slightly behind you then you try and catch it with your hands where you flick it and then that's when you push it and because you're that used to that load and kick in the hulk trying to find that happy feeling balance isn't it I've got that it's a bit different at the top it's more likely one more with that and I'm gonna generally oh silly let me try the big boy where did that come from seriously and it's done again so whilst we're cooking up a little something a little special I'll just jump back into one of my other shafts hazardous rdx smoke green very similar to the whole slightly counter balanced and you might be seeing that here because all of a sudden start blocking it right now bad thing you can see how much different shafts are affecting what's going on ball flight the speeds are similar the kick point how the face is interacting with the ball very changeable yes my swing as well because we're swinging fast and not that well so just trying to piece it together best swing yeah I think yeah we need a little bit more launch but that's closer to where we need to be two six spins on the higher end so we have to kind of tweak that certainly with the loft ball speed's creeping up club head speed is creeping up again that's larger than me now that's left the boy is good all right guys this is where we get into silly town this is why we have the app called golfboad velikov 10x stealth plus this goes left the boy's in trouble ideally I like to hit territory this is it's a balance the three wood and the two iron they can be knocked down because they're just controlled driver especially living the instagram live you want to get out deep so see how the weight affects club head speed and obviously ball speed just creeping up there with a product deck so feels good though different feel I'm 23. The best shot of it visual wise since we started closely still online yeah that's sweet just don't quite all the weight at the back I was going to have a stealth plus 10.

5 into a stealth nine so we can shift that weight to the back and give them a little bit more forgiveness in this 10x [Music] 36 spin I think that's the difference in the head isn't it yeah let's do time to spin bad numbers all right guys ventus is coming up good okay I had some good numbers across the board the rdx green good on speed but just again those spin numbers leaving it dispersion being too wide so right now we're maxing out on the 10x probably one that you could play for control depends if you're looking to max out distance hit it long 7x is coming up good so right now max in our head so we've got nine degree then we've got the 10 and a half down to nine both weighted up at d6 in those windows still looking for that right swing guys alright so between these two let's finish this up still good though good more time in the air good spin these higher carriers and stuff better numbers now all right guys it's been a battle trying to fight the swing trying to get it on point but we figured some stuff out all right got some good numbers and as you can see we got the ventus to fly that a little bit further almost 10 yards more carry we had that more manageable spin which meant the misses weren't as big and it had a little bit more feel and as much as it might not look like it I'm quite a field player so having just that a little bit more responsive feedback helps out all right so it's going to be in play more it's going to carry a little further and it's going to give me that feedback all right so that's why it's the winner we've got 7x in the stealth plus crank down to 90 degrees face open matching the swing weights and getting on playing guys all right so like I said get custom fit it can be a challenge all golfers understand that sometimes you go you don't have your best stuff but you need to work on that see what happens with the bad shots get the good shots in there and optimal [Music] [ __ ] [ __ ] man [ __ ] jesus right guys driver fit in part two we know what the build is but I was getting all fired up in a studio so today we've come out on the hottest day of the year at the hottest part of the day to get after the ventus the stealth and get some numbers outdoors guys all right so I don't need to warm up let's tee though it's heating up guys pretty warm out here so you know we chose the ventus 7x numbers are there to prove it guys all right so we're around that kind of 320 carry at one go 330 plus carry pretty good so it's just the case are dialing this in all right so all speed numbers are a little off probably because of the balls we're using somewhere in between range balls and good balls so a little bit off but in terms of the distances the performance we are where we are guys right so as we kind of talked around the studio the thing here I get a little bit more feel a little bit more spin which helps with this dispersion and I still get that same distance on that max out ball all right so ventus is in play and that's how we do guys all right so we'll have a little fun before we finish up how fast we can go that was a good ball man that was good all right guys ripped a few a little out of touch with a long drive swing but some pretty cool numbers that's nearly 190 ball speed with a range brick we might come back out and do this again or if you can see fully optimized driver despite this going faster ventus the stealth is taking it deep guys right our 350 340 350 360.
