· auto-generatedThere we are going to improve your backswing to get to work [Music] first we are going to work on your flexibility focusing on the upper body we are going to start with the split stance overhead reach all you're going to need here is your golf bag you're going to take a wide stance and then hinge at the hip to place both hands on the back at that point push your hips back put a little tension in the hamstrings and bring your head through both arms to really work through the thoracic spine to open up the upper body and then hold that stretch guys all right breathe deep and work into a deep range of motion the second movement is going to be the t-spine reach through staying in more or less the same position you are going to take one hand off of the bag and you are going to rotate around the spine one hand will be a focal point on the back the other will reach underneath your body creating rotation and reach as you then breathe deep and again try to work through that range of motion increase your awareness of those movement patterns stay engaged to the ground and continue to improve that range of motion on both sides of the body so what we're looking for with the flexibility work is to reduce any restriction in the shoulders and allow you to create a higher deeper backswing position because if we cannot really get some good height and some good depth to the arms we're going to reduce the amount of width in the swing it's going to make it hard to get that ball striking on the point guys right because if the club's too close to your body everything gets real tight but much more likely to then work around and over the top okay what we're looking to do is to increase your range of motion including rotation and how high the hands can reach so at that point we can get higher we can then shallow out and we can create massive force through the ground and into the club head all right guys next is dynamic movement patterns and we are going to help you move faster as well as increase your range of motion first movement in the dynamic patterns will be the lunge with rotational chop here we're going to add in a vertical element so taking a club at arm's reach you will go into a forward lunge position before rowing down to the side of your body and then up and across the lead leg this takes us through a wide range of motion it increases your stability relative to the ground and your spine angle and then hits that rotational profile do this imbalance making sure your feet stay engaged against the ground before returning to center and repeating on the other side once you've hit your lunges you're gonna work straight into the banded swing elevation drill so you're gonna loop the band under one of your feet and take hold in the opposing hand from there you are going to rotate around the spine at a pretty high speed we want to control our movement pattern but we're looking to accelerate and work against the band from here you will rotate into your swing position and create as much height with the hand as possible that stretch across the body that high level of rotational force is going to increase your ability to get the position you want at the top load your body and use the ground whilst improving both sides guys all right this is how you improve your backswing these movements will directly impact your golf swing and give you the potential physically to deliver the club head and hit the shots that you want in terms of taking it to the course you can do this beforehand so your range of motion is improved you can do this at any time so your shoulders your upper body function better into the swing the next level ball strike and those dynamic movement patterns they will enhance your proprioception which is your awareness of movement as well as the muscular activations and patterns that you need to swing fast right there and then all the way through the week so you can really think about where you need to peak and how you want your swing to work guys all right so implement these as often as possible definitely before you go play prepare yourself play some better golf swing faster and hit the ball better guys right that's what we do and remember all your friends subscribe to the channel and if you want more if you really want to go to the next level get your seven day free trial on the golfboat out for every type of golf workout mobilities drills it's all there guys right because we golf strong [Music]
