This is how you can improve how your hips fire first in the golf swing to create more speed and better ball striking whilst you sit and watch the rider cop. All right, you're going to jump up and you're going to grab a golf club. First of all, we need to test your separation and your mobility.

Perfect way to do that is the split stance rotation test. You're going to take this nice wide position and really put your weight through your center of gravity. From here, we're nice and stable.

We got a neutral spine. Take the club out to shoulder height out in front of your chest and we're going to measure all four points of rotation. So, we're going to rotate over the lead leg and we're looking for 90°.

All right. If we can get there, you have passed the test. What we don't want to see is a collapse of the lower body.

That is you just kind of cheating the system. All right. We need to stay stable.

Front knee stays forward. The whole body turns. We get to 90°.

Okay. We stabilize and then we work in the opposing direction. Again, we get to 90.

You can see how we measure with the club to get to that full rotation. Step it up. We're going to test the opposing side.

This is all about hip mobility, how we rotate, how you stabilize, and how you balance. All right? It's all key to your golf swing.

We set, we test, back to the center, test, and line. Okay? It might look simple, but you will be surprised how many golfers struggle with this.

So, if you can pass the test, you're already ahead. Once you've completed the test, we got three stages to improve. Stage one is hip mobility.

Now, we want to get you in your golf posture. So, get nice and balanced between the feet. Working a doorway, stabilize that position, and then we're going to rotate the hips.

All right. So, from here, we're trying to lock in the upper body and rotate the hips. All right.

Stay within your base of support. We're not going sideways. Feel as though you turn, load, and keep working in both directions.

Let's go. 10 slow reps. Turning through, working the hips, and increasing your separation.

So, the core stays nice and solid, you got that neutral spine, and you're loading against the ground. All right, you're going to go five each direction. A key element here is when you do turn the hips, even though the upper body is staying stable, you can feel how you're creating torque into the foot.

All right, don't lose traction. Make sure you're stable. Locking the core, lock in your posture, and then rotate into the ground.

So, you're creating that torque and improving your hip mobility. Two, we want to improve your posture and movement control. All right, we already got the hips rotating.

Now, we look at the upper body plus how well you can work through the shoulder. All right, so you're going to get that club back. We're going back into our golf posture.

And here we now are going to turn into the hips trying to get the shoulders to 90. Keep the eyes on the ball though. All right, we're back to the swing as we are.

You're going to press away, engaging the core, engaging through the shoulder. Return, load, and turn in the opposing direction. All right, this is the T-spine press.

We're working in your golf posture. We're trying to stay stable in the lower body. We're not trying to absolutely lock in the hips.

They can rotate a little, but what we're looking for is rotation around the spine. Press out through the shoulder. Okay.

So, from here, we're working that rotational pattern. We're challenging both sides of the body. Plus, you are doing all of this in your golf posture.

So, you get much more able to control movement, improve your mobility whilst we're in the position that we need. Okay, one more time. Turn into that hip.

Eyes down. Press away. Okay.

Be very deliberate with your movements. Feel the ground. Feel your core and then press through the shoulder to get to the end of your range of motion.

Hips are more mobile. We're rotating through the upper body and you got better control of movement in your posture. Now we bring it all together.

Add in sequencing and get your feet moving so that you are more dynamic when you push into the ground to fire the hips and then work the upper body. Super simple, similar to the rep we just did. We're going to take our club.

We're going to start with our feet together. And now we're going to go to the step two press. All right.

Okay. So, as we step out, that's our trigger to fire the hips, push into the ground, turn to the target, and press through. Okay.

So, from here, balance, we step, rotate, and go. Okay. As we said, we want intent.

We want speed. We want you to really feel like you are ready to go and get to the range. Fired up to hit balls, rider cup, motivated.

All right. So, from here, we step, rotate, and really push. All right.

All of the speed comes at the end. Fire hips first and go. Super aggressive.

That trigger movement of step, push, rotate is what you need to take into your swing. Just like we come down from the back swing, if our swing is fully sequenced up, we load into that lead side. We push, rotate, and that's what creates that snap speed into the ball so you can hit it as far as possible.

And yes, work both sides of the body. We're doing 10 reps in all of these movements. You can do it as many times as you want relative to how much golf coverage you're watching or if you're just going to go ahead and play.

This is the perfect warm-up. All right, so from here we step into the opposing side and fight. We always want to work both sides because your body learns the patterns.

It improves how it moves, increases symmetry, and if you can decelerate, you can accelerate harder. All right, it works both sides. That is how you get your swing moving.

That is how you h fire your hips better. And all you need for this is 10 minutes, a golf club, and a little bit of intent whilst you watch the rider curve. All right, so appreciate checking out this video.
