A 5 minute golf warm-up so you can play Great Golf all the way till [Music] Christmas we all know preparation is absolutely one of the most important factors if you want to go out and play good consistent Golf and missing out on a solid warm-up is probably one of the biggest mistakes golfers are making almost every single week every time they play there are so many benefits to warming up the body not only for your ball striking and your actual play on the course but also for looking after your body and how your mind feels when you get out there so we have three simple movements here that any golfer can do at their own level to level up the warm-up to feel good when they head to the course and prepare to play better golf no matter the weather our first movement is the golf posture T spine press here you will take your golf posture and put a club across your chest from there you're going to rotate in one direction looking to get the shoulders to 90° okay or is close to you can allow some hip rotation but the key is that we really stay fixed and connected to the ground at this point we are then going to press away from the body with both arms creating extra width and range of motion through the upper body whilst you prepare your rotational pattern you're then going to return to Center work the other side and as you hit these really focus on how your car engages how you maintain your neutral spine and then how you create that pattern whilst in rotation is going to help you golf swing up next is the rotational split stance squat this is a challenging movement very Dynamic so work with balance with stability and control to the greatest range of motion that you can okay and this time we're going to take our club at arms length and work into a split stand position as you do so with the club out in front you are going to lower your Trail knee to the ground whilst rotating your upper body over your lead leg ideally what we're looking for is a very light touch with that trail knee and as you do so you're going to reach the point of your rotation where you then push out of the ground and rotate back to Center this is helping your swing in terms of using the ground rotating through the whole body and creating power that is synced up from your ground through your legs into the Torso and then into the extremities work both sides so we create a full rotational pattern and watch your golf swing improve as your body is ready to go third and final movement brings in the technical side and that is the step two swing okay here we get very Dynamic we boost our speed potential our Ground Force potential and then take our body through the exact motion needed to deliver a great golf swing you can hit with this if you want to use it as drill but for the warmup we're going to go no ball whatsoever okay what we're going to do we're going to start with our feet together you are then going to step into the back swing there's different ways to get this one done but we want to feel as so we step back and then push okay as you do so you step back you're going to max out the force into the ground that's going to help you transition you change of Direction and all the speed creation back into the full swing make sure again you're in control you're working through the way that the body is ready for and you're just going to keep on increasing that speed okay and yes we are going to work both sides training rotation and training the swing on the opposing side of your body your non-dominant side helps with your rotation but also your deceleration and it's huge for really well-rounded performance and looking after your body there are three main factors when it comes to why you should do this kind of warm-up number one is your Mobility that's just how your body moves and how prepared you are to execute a solid efficient golf s number two is your arousal yes you need to be aroused to play golf within reason okay that means basically that we're connecting the mind and the body that neuromuscular connection so that not only can your body deliver the golf swing your mind is well synced up and you can do it effectively more often than not that is consistency that is better ball striking that is lower scores and the final Factor very important especially as it gets colder and colder is injury prevention if your muscles aren't ready if your joints are feeling tight and you're not warmed up you go out on a cold morning and try and swing as hard as you can do you are very susceptible to injury where there's a little niggle in the lower back the hips feel tight maybe you twins your shoulder all of these things can be mitigated and you should do so in just 5 minutes and the thing is when you do that 5 minutes of work you're going to water to the tea with more confidence you're going to be more prepared and you're going to play a better golf more often than not that's worth working for and that is why we gave you this video today brought to you by torid we hope that today's training warm-up helps you play better golf whether it's a nice day like this or it's one of those cold Frosty mornings where you just want to tea it up the thing is if you prepare your body if you work through this warmup you will feel better you will play better and that is worth working for okay we appreciate your time make sure
