What's going on guys hope you're on a good monday welcome back to the channel we know that people don't always associate golfers with hitting the gym okay we're doing our best to change that and without doubt the game is changing guys which is pretty cool however lots of golfers still think they need to do things a specific way if they're going to hit the gym and that's not necessarily true guys all right so lots of different elements but really we're going to look at the three mistakes that golfers continue to make when hitting the gym okay and starting out number one he's just not moving with enough speed okay guys you think about the complexity of the swing the outcome that we're looking for we all want to build speed we all want to hit the ball a long way so you got to train within 10 guys okay we're talking about the ability to move through pans to trust your movement quality your stability and deliver that speed and acceleration okay because if you're just moving through patterns slowly or if you sat on a machine where you're supported and you're really not developing the sequencing or the full body movement patterns that you need to change your swing you're not going to see those golf games guys all right rather we're looking for really cool sequence movements where you're going to use the ground you're going to understand the movement you're going to work around the spine and then deliver okay there's always nuance there's lots of different elements to look at but you got to move within 10 guys right if you want to swing fast you got to train fast at least at times guys okay headed into mistake number two that is going to be making everything look like a golf swing okay and still this is this is something we see every single day everything that people do tries to mimic this swing okay that's not effective enough guys all right you can have some movements again that are well sequenced they put the right tension in place and they actually build speed and power but if everything you do is just trying to mimic the swing you're just working through a single pattern of motion you're not really understanding the body as a whole as a system and you're definitely not getting the most out of it from athletic standpoint okay we need to look at the elements of fitness that are going to help us develop individually in terms of our lifestyle in terms of our performance in the gym and then how we perform in terms of our golf swing okay we're talking speed out of the ground we're talking compound movements core stability awareness coordination balance you have to train it all guys right and if all you do is spend your time trying to go through one motion again we're not seeing the golf games that we want to see okay so a good balance which is what we always put into our programs guys strength stability power and speed rotation and movement quality it's pretty simple but when done well is extremely effective okay final mistake is avoiding actually lifting weights okay this is obviously relative to your own experience to how much you actually have been in the gym but you've got to have a base level of strength okay that means something different for all people however strength is the foundation of everything that you do even to the point of standing up walking making a golf swing you have to have the strength to move your body in a certain way and the more strength you build again taking other factors like movement quality joint integrity into account the more you're going to be able to shift your power output your speed creation and the forces generated from your body into the ball okay so again different levels you can go from bodyweight movers into a loaded kettlebell swing you can go from the kettlebell swing into a deadlift and pretty much everything in between guys right but we need to load the body we need to challenge the system because honestly strength is never a weakness all right and I'm taking that from somebody else so don't give me credit okay so load up build over time be consistent work on it and then take it to the course guys all right so those are your three mistakes all right we've got to move faster we've got to vary our training in a way that's going to develop the body as a whole and then we've got to lift some weights from time to time okay so if you are making those mistakes which you might be it's okay we've all been there try this workout okay guys we're putting together a very short goal for style workout which is going to give you all of those factors we just talked about you're going to use the ground better you're going to hinge load the body sequence that rotation and improve your work capacity hit it out now [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] okay guys so if that is your first golf wad take it down hit the gym and get it done okay focus on movement quality execution and just getting your fitness on guys all right for those of you who've been with us for a while you probably know the friend or you know somebody who you play with who is still that person okay let's hit them let's get them involved let's build the community and let's all go strong together guys all right so I hope that you enjoyed today's video again once you have hit that first golf board you know where the rest are guys all right and the community grows every single day you've got the golf world app which you can download right now you're going to get every different type of workout possible you're going to get mobility body weight loaded
