Three simple movements so the holidays don't ruin your golf swing it's the holidays we all sit down more we all eat a little more as well and we're probably not playing as much golf as we would like to so you're going to feel that in the body your flexibility is going to take a hit and when you te it up again that stiffness that creakiness in the body is going to creep back in so we have three simple movements you can do with nothing more than a golf club to keep the body moving over the holidays and keep your golf swing ready to go movement number one is the lunge with Club hold rotation in terms of your goal swing this is going to help activate and stabilize the lower body as well as improve your sequencing and separation of the upper and lower bodies themselves really good for your rotation and power out of the ground simply take a club at arms length reach out from there you're going to step into your lunge pattern touch the ground if you can do stabilize rotate over that lead leg that's important it allows you to balance and rotate against that lower body from there push into the ground stand back up and Alternate legs stabilize rotate and stand back up you'll notice the core is super stable the eyes are staying forwards and we have that neutral spine all really important factors if you want to do as well so step stabilize rotate you really want to focus on how that upper body stays centered over that air symmetry that we're creating with the lunge pattern and then when you push out of the ground you know that you're really activating the big muscles and keeping the body moving movement two is a split stance t-spine rotation thoracic spine the middle of your our back is what takes the biggest hit when we're sitting down the whole time that and the hip flexes we're actually working both right here we're going to that split stands for the lower body get nice stretch in those hip flexors helps you activate the glutes as well then we're going to rotate around the spine opening up that thoracic area that can get so tight and so niggly okay so set yourself into a good position decent width you're then going to stabilize with the alternate hand from here you're going to reach that arm under really wrap around and open up you want to open as far as you can turning around the spine in both directions what you can see is that lower body stays really stable we open up and then we round down so you get that rotational pattern around the spine that's super important and obviously we're going to work both sides so you'll see a little differently here again stabilize that lower body first bring yourself into a good position reach under and around really open up you can allow your head to go with this one round and down up and through get yourself a few reps you can really be quite fluid with this motion as long as you're stable in the lower body and this one is called the greatest stretch for a reason you know hips thoracic spine this is your golf swing in one motion as a combination and as a single movement this is getting it done movement three we're really going to get the golf swing juices flowing with the golf posture power rotations this allows you to really work on your swing at home focusing on how you use the ground how you rotate the whole body in sequence and how you power up your movement simply you're going to get into your golf posture get nice and level with the ground that means feet fully engaged feelings are you're active and ready get that nice posture set you want that neutral spine slight Bend of the knee you know all the good things about golf posture from here we're going to work in both directions you're going to get reps on each side okay so set into your posture then we're going to elevate and load okay if we're looking to maximize our Force creation we want to lift a little whilst working into that trail side feel the foot work against the ground load the big muscles get to that full shoulder turn we then go down and rotate to the tag be really specific with how you execute cuz we can just turn and we're doing nothing at that point all right so what we want to feel nice active feet Elevate and load full shoulder turn down lateral rotational and vertical so I'll do that again for you load and turn so we go down into that vertical we load the lateral and then we rotate up and through to the Finish nice and aggressive load and turn feel yourself working up and down really hit that motion and then work your weaker side as well it's going to help with your balance your coordination and it's going to help with symmetry throughout the body so this won't feel quite as good but we want you to do exactly the same we load and turn down up and through add some speed in there really feel the feet working against the ground this feel this feels really good and again if you want to add some speed to your swing over the holidays this might not do it everything else that we do will but this is defin going to help you keep moving when you combine these three movements you got something to work with three simple movements 5 minutes a day and you keep your golf swing in good order even if you're not playing or practicing whilst you're enjoying the holidays this is a great strategy if you want to get into the new year ready to go consistent ball striking and not losing any speed and flexibility whil you take it easy for a couple of weeks this is a great way to start out again you can do these at home you can do these when the family's around you might look like the crazy golfer but aren't we all okay so get it done and if you want to take it up to that next level make sure you jump into the golf W app we've got zero equipment movements all the way
