10 Minute Golf Fitness Session to Feel and
A 10-minute golf-club workout of four moves—starting with single-leg RDLs—to build mobility, stability, balance, and speed for faster swings.

· auto-generatedIf you are trying to increase your club head speed, go and have a great rain session or just hit it longer on the golf course, this 10minute golf swing workout is for you. You will immediately feel and swing faster because we're going to help you with your mobility, stability, balance, and speed. All you need is a golf club is four exercises, and we're going to take no more than 10 minutes.
All right, so lock in, follow along, and get fast. To start out, we want to connect the mind and body so that you can stabilize and create incredible movement patterns that are really going to help your golf swing and how you move. We also want to get the legs fired up.
That's where so much of our power comes from. That's how we use the ground. So, this combination is incredible, right?
Super easy to do, but it is going to test your balance. Our first movement, you're going to do two sets here. 10 reps of a single leg RDL, which is a movement that looks like this.
Again, the club is a great way to you to feel how to balance through this movement and how to actually rotate. All right, so level one here would be a simple RDL. So, a Romanian deadlift.
We're looking at the posterior chair. Keep that foot anchored to the ground. Hold the club at shoulder width.
And from here, we hinge down. Bring the club just above the ankle. And then fire back up.
The key here is that you stretch and load the hamstring and then fire the glute to come back up to standing. So, we stretch, load against the foot, slight bend of the knee, use the glute to bring you back up. Glutes the big muscle around the back here.
And this is all about how your hip functions and how you use the ground. So, let's get a couple reps. Hinge, float.
All right, really simple, but because it's single leg, we're firing up how the mind works and we're starting to connect that foot to ground. If you want to level that up and add some additional challenge to it, we're going to put a rotation in there. So, we have our RDL pattern.
We're going to work in that single leg. Now, as we then stabilize in that bottom position, we rotate over that lead side, come back up, and return to standing. So, we have to work on that single leg stability, huge for your golf swing.
And then rotate around the spine. Awesome for hip loading. It's just so good for your whole body.
And like you said, the mind too because once we have to work through this pattern, the foot's working to stabilize. Our chest is down. We rotate stable up and go.
Okay, you think about your golf swing, how we're transferring pressure from each foot, how we're rotating around the spine. If you can do it in this movement, you're preparing yourself for a much higher level of consistency and accuracy with your ball striking. Couple more reps for you as we set.
Hinge, stabilize, rotate, back to center, and then up. Really feel that flow. Feel the load against the ground.
Make sure you turn and always work both sides. All right. So, we go into that right leg.
You will feel some imbalances, but that is fine. We hinge, load, rotate, center, and back. So, you're going to go five reps on each side.
Nice fluidity. Really get yourself feeling like you're connected to the ground and moving well. We're going to pair that up with a vertical jump because there we worked on accuracy, precision, and balance.
This is about pure output and getting as much out the legs as possible. So bring yourself into your golf posture. From here, the key is that we load vertically and then accelerate.
Okay, we talk about the ground reaction forces. You push and move. That's what we're doing here.
But we're going straight up because we want the big muscles firing. So what I'm looking at here is a full connection to the ground with your foot. We're going to elevate, compress, which means I'm going to use my whole body weight to push into my feet to push against the ground.
That's how we create speed. If you jump without doing so, there's not a lot going on. But if we can use our body weight to push against the ground, tall down, go, we can really elevate and get some power and speed out of the legs.
So, breath in, solid posture, get tall and go. Really does fire up the legs and feels good as well. So, there you go.
Get tall. Okay, 10 single leg deadlifts with the rotation if you can manage that balance. Five vertical jumps, rest 60 seconds and repeat.
Balance, precision, and power. Okay, it's going to take you 5 minutes. Go get it done.
And then we go into our next combination. Into set two, it's time to get more dynamic, get faster, and get more specific. Okay, so here we're going to go with the same rep scheme.
Two sets, super simple, of 10 lateral bounds and five step two swing. All right, this is specifically about getting you swinging faster right now. So, we're going to work on our golf swing as well.
The lateral bound, this really is up to your level. We're going to be moving in a lateral direction. The biggest thing here is how the foot connects against the ground.
We load and change direction just like we did with that vertical jump going up and down. Now we add in that lateral and rotational element as we load up, turn and change direction. Okay, we want to be nice and dynamic, but stability is key.
So work to your level, even if that's a very small movement and we just maintain our balance and pressure side to side. Make sure your form is on point. If you can generate more force and really start to move, this becomes a highly dynamic movement that is going to massively impact your swing.
So, we load down into the ground, rotate into the hip, change direction, and then add speed. You can see there's just a slight pause on each rep. That's how you accept the ground, load the hip, and then really take it into your mechanics.
Okay, you want to feel like the foot creates torque against the ground. Everything rotates through there, and then the toes grab. You're working hard, and that is how you change direction.
You can see how the body loads here. We turn and go. Every rep using your own body weight inside your base of support to create power through the ground and power for your goal swing, which is where we go next.
We're going to go back to the club. And now we're going to go five step two swing. Okay, this is about maximizing swing speed and moving the club head as fast as possible.
Minimize rest between each and then go all out. Okay, if you really want to increase club head speed, you need to be able to move this as fast as possible. So, with your driver, you can do with any club, but if you want to swing fast, swing your driver.
Okay, we're going to start with our feet together. We're going to take the club back, step into impact, and then rip through as fast as possible. Again, really do this with intent.
That's how you're going to get the best results. So, we're together. We're going to take the club back, step into our posture, and let it rip.
Okay, that step is going to make it more dynamic. It's going to give us more reaction forces and it's going to give us the ability to push and load vertically into that lead side. All right, so together back and go max speed turning through and just feeling powerful and faster every rep.
Now, I would do this without swinging the other side. For this one specifically, we're trying to get you feeling fast right now. You want your mechanics on point.
This is how you get it done. All right. So, again, two sets, 10 lateral bounce, five step to swing.
Go as fast as you can. 60 seconds rest in between. Very low volume.
Massive potential. Okay? It's going to have your body going.
It's going to increase your blood flow, increase your heart rate. If you're doing this before speed training before you go to the course, it's going to be incredible. All right.
And then you think about all of the movements we just worked through. We had the RDL with rotation. We had the vertical jump and then we just worked into a lateral bounce and the step two swing.
That is very specific because we're trying to get you in great posture with balance and stability. We're then trying to use the legs and create power through the ground. Finally, want those biomechanics, want that sequence in to fire the hips, load everything into the club, and swing really, really fast.
All right, this is a super simple way to feel faster and swing faster. It's going to take you less than 10 minutes, and it will improve how you hit the driver and definitely how far you hit the driver. All right, so I appreciate you following along.
