Michael primes the Bryan Bros with kettlebell swings, rotational box jumps and med ball slams in a ball-speed challenge to maximize their swing speed.
Transcript
· auto-generatedWe have traveled here to South Carolina. Let's get right in the middle of the Brian Bros speed challenge. All right, they're duking it out on the balls.
>> Hey, >> we're gonna help George get up there, see how fast we can go. Then we're going to get in the truck. We're going to go find Wesley, too.
See who's shaping up the best to go really fast. >> And then at the end of this video, he's going to give his honest opinion on who has the potential to get to the highest ball speed possible. So, with that being said, Mike, >> let's see what we're working with.
All right. So, we're going to prime the body. We're going to see where we get to.
We're indoors. >> All right. >> Swing fast.
So, we've already been hitting a few shots. George is moving the body pretty well. >> Well, is well, I'll take well.
>> We'll see how far we go. All right. So, we're going to do three exercises here to really prime the body and get things moving.
We're going to start out with a kettle bell swing to get the posterior chain going, get the big muscles firing, using the ground. We're going to use >> the box for a rotational box jump to really create torque, load against the ground, and fire through that rotation. Then we're going to hit some med ball slams.
So just get the full body sequenced up so Josh can swing fast. Feel powerful today. >> All right, let's go.
>> Let's go. All right, let's go. We got 12 reps.
Really want to push back into the big muscles. So hamstrings, glutes. >> Is this decent form?
>> Yeah, a little bit more aggressive through the legs. That's quite a lot of arms right now. So really dip down.
Feel how the feet are pushing into the ground and you're creating power all the way up and through the body. So be aggressive. We want to feel that connection between the core and the glutes like we talked about earlier on.
Be aggressive. Two more. Good.
And then from there, we're going to go straight into four rotational box jumps. All right. So, two on each side.
So, we prime up both sides of the body. So, you're really loading your body against the ground. Rotate.
Nice. That change of direction is huge. All right.
So, be aggressive. >> Good speed. Little bounce.
Look at that bounce in you this morning now. Come on, move this whole body. >> Cool.
And then four rotational slams up and over like we did before. So nice. All right.
So, load up, feel it go up and over sequence just like the golf swing. So, you fire the hips and get it going. >> Nice.
Take a minute. Fire it up. >> How we doing?
>> That's good. You're moving good. >> Okay.
So, first swing's getting loose. >> I mean, goal this morning if we can get to one mid 170s. >> Yeah.
Not quite in full energy so far, but hey, >> it feel through the ball. Honestly, we need to get a >> You never know with the speed stuff cuz >> like it feels my body actually Mike feels halfway decent. >> Mhm.
171. I think we might get the 180. >> Let's get 180.
>> Like that's I mean that's good speed, Mike. >> That was nice right there. That was solid.
>> Like what? That's going to fly at 300 and be a hot one. >> One yard left of the flag, huh?
What do we get to? >> I mean, that's smooth 170s right there for sure. >> Yep.
75. I mean that those numbers right there those are those are like I feel like would you would you agree that you could see me swing it like that in the golf course and not be that's not like a long drive swing. >> No that was smooth >> which >> really solid contact.
That's what I told you guys and the people like I want to get longer but not go have to go create. I just want like my baseline to keep going up and up where like my 175 ball speed to 178 to 180 looks like a normal in control golf swing. >> Absolutely.
>> The only way to get there is to kind of do this speed training. >> That's it. It's that speed and reserve.
You take up to that high level then 80 90% faster as well. >> Oh little draw. Oh, you like that one, huh?
>> I don't know. Let's see. Let's see what Let's see what it says.
>> Good numbers. >> 75. 3.
Keeping going up. >> You're creeping. >> Where are those hard balls?
Where those count? >> Yes. >> Got the right one.
>> That's a hard hit. You definitely hit in the middle today. >> Yeah.
I'm telling you, like last night we did a speed session here, we streamed it. It didn't feel like body didn't feel great. I'm a little under the weather, but it never felt I feel like I have power today.
>> Power 178 four. Let's go. >> Hey, let's get to 180.
[snorts] >> And I think that's what again people I've seen some comments. Hey, is this going to mess up your golf swing? All the speed training, which it could throw some timing.
>> Yeah. But the goal would be to get the baseline up to then we can just get back to fun fundamentals and [snorts] >> by cruising normal drivers >> 178. >> Exactly.
Now you got so much control of your movement that unless you really go wild I don't think he's going to change too much. >> All right. Feel the ground.
Use the legs. Chasing walking after it. I said the low left is the weight is the is the key.
Ch. Do I feel good about cheating the system if this is 180? >> 180.
Let's go. >> This morning that 180 seemed a long way away. So that's pretty good going then.
>> I mean again we'll do one more then we'll let you get on the road to Wesley. >> But again it's not it's not fairway finding. This is purely ball speed.
>> Yeah. You're just trying to move the body and you know that you can groove it straight back in to hit that fairway every time. Good.
Nice transition on that one. >> See that one? That's a That's a proper bomb.
>> That's a proper bomb. >> Is it going to be the high the 320 carry the ball speed? No, but it's going to be >> It's a great swing.
Nice high hands. Good transition. 777.
That's a proper golf show, man. >> We're going to end on that one. I don't >> Yeah.
>> Well, 320 carry. >> We got 180. Wesley, I know you're going to beat the like, but it will be interesting to see you watch him and you might be able to push him to get to 190 today if you like.
>> So, Mike, >> appreciate it, man. Great work. >> Getting faster.
Let's go. >> All right, we took the big truck. We made it over to Tsunami Bus.
Check them out. We're going to go find Wesley. >> There he is.
Look. >> What up? >> Your natural habitat, man.
What have you been doing today? , well, I just got done stretching. I'm going to run through a quick little what I do to gain speed.
>> Well, George was talking you up to maybe a 190 today. >>, I don't know if 190 is in the deck of cards. What' George hit this morning?
>> He hit 180, but he's >> he took a little hit this morning. So, >> yeah, we'll we'll we'll blow past 180. So, usually what I start with is I'll do a couple cycles of this.
So, I'm going to slam the ball into the ground. I'm going to throw the ball up against the wall, getting some rotational stuff, and then, like I said, sequencing with this >> tsunami bar right here. , I'll go through two quick little spurts of it.
I'll go in there and hit probably 10 to 12 golf balls and then call it a session. >> That's how you end up with this. I don't want to burn too many calories because then I might get skinny.
All right, >> holding on to them. First one we're going to go five, five, five. >> All right, let's see it.
>> Giving a little jump right at impact or right at the release point. >> Nice. See those knees flex in just a little bit.
>> And then one There's five of those >> aggressive. Then now we're going to get a little bit more. This isn't more speed.
This is just getting the right hip >> firing forward, left hip getting out of the way and just >> transfer through the car. >> Yeah, >> looks good, man. >> And then go to the other side.
A little less coordinated over here. >> Yeah, it's good for the deceleration. All right.
Oh, yipped it. Now I'm working up more than a more of a sweat than I'd like. This I usually like to go down the line.
So with this, I'm also checking swing plane. So if I come in with this too far underneath, it's going to recoil up this way. Same thing over the top, it's going to recoil this way.
So [snorts] >> So you get some real feedback. And so much of this is through the ground, through the core, and then your hands know what they're doing, too. So, >> yeah.
And so, the big part of this one is where that release point is here, and then [snorts] stopping it. >> Mhm. >> To get the flick.
And now, >> something we talked about with mine last week, and obviously the body creates all that energy. Once you get to impact, you got to unleash it, right? You got unwind.
>> Yeah. >> Now, I'm tired. >> All right.
So, the body's moving good. >> This is >> It looks good. >> Not going for contact, not going for speed.
Just trying to get that back swing elongated a little bit. >> Sure. Just priming up the body.
Ready to go. >> And so, how many sessions are we in at this point? You mean obviously you and George going back and forth?
That was the That was the fire you needed, right? >> Yeah. I'm about I'd say [snorts] at this point probably five to seven sessions in.
>> Yeah. >> And went from again the numbers I saw cruising on the golf course dipping below 170 kind of lit a fire in me. >> I'd like to be on the golf course at like 175 next year, like bare minimum.
That's kind of where [snorts] >> I've been in the years past when I was hitting it good, just cruising in the 7475 range. I've cruised at 180 at probably five, six years ago. And if we can get back to that, it'd be great.
>> Nice. >> If not, >> no worries. Now, let's rip a couple four irons.
>> Again, just a longer back swing is all we're going for here. Oh, seeing 152 ball speed on the four first four iron, not even swinging hard is a good sign. >> That is a good sign.
You can hear the strike. It's >> It's a good >> solid. >> It's good, man.
>> That's a 4 iron, Mike. >> We got a super wide arc going on. >> Yep.
>> Yeah. 153 242. >> We go to the big dog.
>> All right. >> And just >> what's his first ball going to be? >> The first ball?
I'd like to see 181 182 for the first ball. Mhm. >> By ball five or six, I'd like to see 184, 185.
And then depending on how the body feels, I might just shut it down. I mean, >> all right. >> We'll see if I feel any twinges like in my hip, shoulder, neck, back, I usually just calm it down.
So, >> okay. >> Oh, I >> complete drop kick, 1200 spin, which is >> You still got that 181 though. >> 181.
>> We could We could be in store for an 87 88. >> All right, let's put it out there. >> Just a longer back swing.
It's >> a good hit. >> That's That's ball two. >> Oh my.
>> All right, >> ball two. >> Well, that must burn to death. Let's see a nine in the Hey, >> we might get to 90.
>> Yeah, I think so. >> Drop kick. >> Yeah, we could let it go just a tiny bit longer at the top.
I think >> I know. Trust me, I'm trying. I'm trying.
>> Where do you feel it? In the hands or is it more in the body? >> It's it's definitely more in the hands and it loading like this way.
Hands and wrists. Cuz trying to turn all the way back there, like I feel like when you see those long drivers, like if I get here, like I feel like I'm going to miss the golf ball like completely >> or hurt myself or damage the machine. >> Let's go.
Real long back swing here. >> Let's go. >> Wow.
>> All right. >> I mean, we had something there. >> 87.
>> Back on 87. It's a pretty good swing, too, huh? >> Yep.
Last one. >> Last one. >> Last one.
>> All right. Get a little twitchy. Get those feet going.
[snorts] >> Let's go real high. Left heel. >> All out.
>> Thinn it >> consistent. >> Yeah. 87.
So, you tie in your best for the this little speed session that you're in. >> Yeah. Oh, you know what?
Let's, you know, let's sit down, Mike. Let's talk about it. >> Let's sit down.
>> Let's sit down and talk about it. >> 87's what we got. >> It's pretty solid.
>> What were you hoping for? >> Well, I mean, touching on 190 would have been good for the channel, for the concert. >> Yeah, we can we can do that next year.
>> Okay. You know, >> next year. >> Well, preseason or this time next year?
>> Preseason. I mean, we could get there preseason, but I think this time next year we might be touching 200. Is that a goal?
>> No, but we can make it one. >> Yeah, I like that goal. I think >> what So, what you saw, you saw my warm-up, you saw in here some of the >> swing techniques of a of a raised left heel, a lot of slamming into the ground,, longer back swing, >> cocking the wrist at the top.
And then you saw what George did. >> George. Yeah.
>> Who do you feel has the most speed moving forward? >> I think the biggest factor is that you're kind of willing to take it there. George's kind of mechanics and his driving on the course just you don't want to lose that.
I think there's a little bit of fear of losing that. So, you're doing so many of the long drive things already. You can see your feet were kind of engaging the ground a little bit.
You had that little shift into the right side, then you're getting longer. So, George obviously has more potential. >> You think George has more potential?
>> I mean, to be fair, he does have something to lose off the te. He's DRVN it really good. I don't have much to lose.
>> Exactly. And I think his swing is a little bit more centered. He gets a little narrow on the way down which allows him to just really stay in that awesome impact position but you're widening it out into that wide swing arc.
Like say there's a lot more [snorts] right now there's a lot more long drive elements in your swing. So I guess really we have to say that the ceiling is there. It really depends on how George wants to shift those patterns.
>> What [snorts] do you think if I if I if I just did this program three or four times a week by the end of 2026? What number do you think I would hit? >> Just this or you going to add in a little You mean >> Oh, no.
We're not adding We're not adding in everything else. [laughter] >> Let's not get ridiculous. >> Well, I mean, what you've gone from one set low 170s up to 187 in five six sessions?
>> Yeah. I mean, is there any reason not to get to 2011, 202, 203? >> Oh, so you're talking 203.
So, you think we can get there? >> I don't see why not. I mean, the mechanics are good.
Solid strike, you launch it so good anyway. You kind of have all those factors in there. Depends how much you want to do it.
I don't know. I mean, I just want to have fun with my buds. And if George if George keeps me competitive here and he starts up in the game, yes, I'll do it.
But if George if George bows out and tops out at 185 and I don't have to do any work to stay above him, then >> well, >> I can't imagine myself continuing to push through. >> That is what I would say. I mean, George hit 185 at this point.
>> Mhm. [laughter] >> He doesn't look like he's absolutely maxing out. So, I think if he learned to get that bit taller, get that wider arc, he could scare you enough to kind of keep you going.
>> Okay. All right. So, you're you're team Wesley, not team George.
When it comes to long drive >> in terms of if I was >> you got to pick one. >> If I was back in one, >> I mean, you put me in the spot. You bring me out here.
You're looking >> I mean, yeah, it's a it's a this is a competitive game we play. >> Yeah. Right now, we have we have you on the way.
You got the long drive swing going on, but >> my guy >> George als has the training set up. >> Yeah. Yeah.
And he's the he's the pretty face. And I get it. >> The pretty face.
And you know, if you guys have made it this far in the video and y'all haven't already subscribed, now would be fantastic to do that. Come check out our journeys as we go through pro golf, YouTube golf, whatever it may be in 2026. >> We appreciate you guys.

George, he's creeping. He's doing the work. He's got those DRVN workouts.
He's put his body in a great position to not only hit it longer and faster, but to still hit it in play basically every single time. Wesley's got the raw power. Will he get over to the training side?
Will he actually put more work in? We're about to find out, guys. Right, we're going to release soon a month of speed with George and Wesley.
Pick a side, do your training, and the winner is going to take home some incredible prizes. All right, guys. So, look out for that coming soon.
We got brother versus brother, but every one of you can get involved as well as we push the best workouts, the best swing drills, and the speed sessions that you need to get you at the highest speed you've ever been at with a great golf swing for great contact and everything that comes with that, guys.
