· auto-generatedToday we are looking at the one factor that every golfer needs to work on to play good golf now and long into the future the golf swing is a challenging Movement we need the range of motion to move the club around the body we need that connection to the ground and posture to retain the swing and the strike and we need to move well enough to maintain speed over time so that we don't get too short and make the game an awful lot harder so today we are going to look at the three stretches that every golfer needs now and wait into the future so that you can improve on these factors and keep your swing moving the way that you want it to for the long term our first area of focus is the hip flexors because if we are tight and restricted in the hips our glutes can't function and almost everything in the swing is going to be impacted from our posture to our power through to our consistency this simple stretch takes us into this lunge position the front foot is flat and we're stretching this Trail hip flexor here you really want to Lunge in feel the stretch keep the glutes engag it's called reciprocal inhibition if the glute is functioning the front muscle the hip flexor has to relax so you're going to increase that stretch going to work down deep into it always using your breath always maintaining your p posture and trying to feel that stretch roughly for 30 seconds each side once you get deep into this you can increase the stretch the Improvement through different variations and by introducing distraction with a band okay this opens up the joint further allows you to get a deeper stretch and helps you get more flexible we then move to the upper body and focus on reducing tension and restriction right in the middle of your back that thoracic region so many golfers get restricted because we sit down too much we're driving we're working our shoulders get rounded and again this really does cause problems in the golf swing it's going to increase injury likelihood and it's going to restrict your range of motion so you can't get into that full swing Arc simply have a platform in front of you rest your elbows and get yourself just to a slight stretch in terms of distance from the platform hold a club Palms up out in front of you and then sit back into your hips feeling that stretch right through the spine and creating more extension so you get more flexibility and movement in the spine itself sit deep breathe deep and feel yourself opening up as you work this stretch over time with consistency ens sure you do not go to a point of discomfort make sure you find the stretch sit into the hips and really feel everything opening up so that you can get more access to an improved golf swing our final movement is the awesome dynamic split St rotation here we have asymmetry in the lower body which is great for the hips and your stability overall and a big rotational pattern around the spine that directly impacts your golf swing correctly executing this movement will give you freedom in pretty much everything that you do ideally we want to take that trail knee off of the ground a chest is to the floor with the opposing hand and foot forwards we then reach and rotate underneath before opening out and going through a full range of motion up and above rotate down and around so here we're accessing the hips we're in a really good position to balance Engage The Core and improve your posture and then we work that very specific rotational pattern around the spine opening up all of your movements to an increased possibility of a free flowing powerful golf swing with less chance of injury those are the three stretches a golfer could ever need they're going to enhance your ability to move they're going to reduce injuries and they're going to improve your rotation now if you can do those every day for the next 20 years you're good you're going to move well you're going to probably play some good golf if that doesn't quite sound like something that you're going to do you need DRVN head over and get the DRVN app now for daily Mobility different programs workouts and everything that you need to be at your best on and off the course and if you enjoyed this video make sure you hit like hit subscribe tell your friends and then we can all golf strong
