DRVN Golf Fitness Handicap™
publicA single, evolving score that reflects how prepared a golfer's body is to support the swing they're trying to create. It converts physical readiness into a familiar handicap format. It is feedback, not a judgment of talent or effort — and a decision-making tool, not motivational fluff.
Three Integrated Layers
- Standardized Physical Assessment — the Mobility Assessment (5 tests) + Fitness Testing (5 tests) = a combined total out of 50 points, scored 1–5 each and adjusted for golfer type (male, female, junior, senior).
- Structured Training & Retesting Cycles — six-week cycles: Assess → Train → Retest → Adjust.
- Daily Accountability Scoring — a 24-hour rolling system that rewards consistency.
Baseline
Every athlete begins at a Golf Fitness Handicap of 36 — removing comparison pressure, establishing a common starting point, and allowing momentum before formal testing.
Handicap Categories
| Category | Handicap Range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Category 5 | 30–25 | Limited physical readiness |
| Category 4 | 24–18 | Developing capacity |
| Category 3 | 17–12 | Solid foundation |
| Category 2 | 11–7 | High physical readiness |
| Category 1 | 6–PRO | Elite level physical readiness |
Category advancement is earned through verified retesting, not temporary performance spikes. Until reassessment occurs, advancement is locked.
Daily Scoring Rules
| Action | Handicap Change |
|---|---|
| No activity logged within 24 hours | +1 shot |
| Training or Mobility submitted to Handicap | −1 shot |
Daily scoring moves the handicap within a category; advancing between categories still requires retesting.
Coaching Lens
- High handicap → improve function before aggressive swing change.
- Lower handicap → earn the right to increase complexity, load, and precision.
A decreasing handicap signals expanding opportunity; a rising handicap flags inconsistency to address before progression continues.
