Mobility

Single Leg Windmill

Windmill rotation on one leg, stacking balance on thoracic rotation the same way the swing does.

Why it matters for golf

Standing on one leg while rotating forces the hip stabilizers and the thoracic spine to work together. That combination mirrors the swing, where the trunk turns over a loaded, balancing leg. It feeds both the balance and thoracic rotation domains of the DRVN Mobility Assessment.

Coaching cues

  • Set your balance before the first rotation.
  • Rotate slow from the mid back.
  • Keep the stance hip quiet and strong.
  • Exhale through each turn.

Common faults

  • Wobbling and rushing reps anyway.
  • Rotating from the lower back.
  • Stance knee caving inward.
