movement
Single Leg Hold
publicThe final movement — maps to Balance, Stability & Proprioception. Also called the Superman test. It answers: can the golfer remain stable and organized after force has been created? That's exactly the demand at the finish of the swing.
Assesses: balance over time · ground reaction & foot stability · proprioception. Setup: stand on one leg, opposite hip lifted to 90°, club held forward, eyes forward; both sides tested. The Superman progression hinges at the hip and extends the free leg back into a long lever over one foot.
Scoring (1–5)
| Score | What You'll See |
|---|---|
| 1 | Reaches 90° hip position both sides, but unable to hold |
| 2 | Holds single-leg position < 10 seconds on either side |
| 3 | Holds single-leg position > 10 seconds on both sides |
| 4 | Achieves the Superman hold on both sides |
| 5 | Holds the Superman position 10+ seconds on both sides |
Asymmetries (one side failing earlier) often matter more than the raw number.
