Split Stance Rotation
publicMaps to Separation — the downswing's defining quality: lower body and upper body moving in different directions at once while staying connected as part of the kinematic sequence.
Assesses: rotational range of motion (internal & external, each side) · movement control · lead-leg hip stability · asymmetry. Setup: split stance (front foot flat, back foot on toes), club held at arm's length; rotate the torso while the lower body stays quiet.
Scoring (1–5)
| Score | What You'll See |
|---|---|
| 1 | Stabilizes in split stance on both sides without losing balance |
| 2 | Reaches 45° of rotation in two of the four directions |
| 3 | Reaches 45° in all four directions with good control |
| 4 | Reaches 90° in two of the four directions while staying stable |
| 5 | Reaches 90° in all four directions effortlessly and with control |
Range alone is not enough — stability must be present at every level.
