Drop Stabiliser

A drop to a controlled, stuck landing. Trains the ability to absorb force fast and hold a stable base.

Why it matters for golf

The lead leg has to catch and stabilize big forces in the downswing. This drill trains dropping into a landing and freezing it, teaching the hips and knee to accept load without wobble. That braking ability is a real speed ingredient.

Coaching cues

  • Drop, land, freeze.
  • Whole foot on the floor, hips loaded.
  • No wobble and no extra steps.
  • Hold the landing for a beat before resetting.

Common faults

  • Knee collapsing inward on landing.
  • Landing tall and stiff instead of absorbing into the hips.
<!-- VERIFY against video: Assumed a drop into a stuck single or double leg landing; confirm stance and drop height from the video. -->
