Rotational Box Jump

A box jump with a rotation added in the air. Combines vertical power with rotation, like the swing itself.

rotationpower

Why it matters for golf

Golf speed is vertical force plus rotation. Rotational box jumps train both at once, teaching the body to jump, turn, and land with control. The landing also trains the rotary braking that protects the back and knees.

Coaching cues

  • Load the hips like a normal box jump.
  • Turn in the air, not before you leave the floor.
  • Land soft with the whole foot, facing the new direction.
  • Stick it before stepping down.

Common faults

  • Under rotating and landing crooked.
  • Landing hard with the knees caving in.
