Rotational Lunge To Step

A rotational lunge that flows into a step. Trains lower body rotation with a moving base of support.

lungerotation

Why it matters for golf

Stepping out of a rotational lunge forces the hips to produce rotation and then organize a new base underneath it. That mix of turn, balance, and transfer mirrors how pressure moves through the feet during the swing.

Coaching cues

  • Step into the lunge with a controlled turn.
  • Chest tall through the rotation.
  • Push off and step through with balance.
  • Own each position before moving on.

Common faults

  • Rushing the step and stumbling through it.
  • Knee collapsing as the body turns.
<!-- VERIFY against video: Assumed a rotational lunge flowing into a step through; confirm the direction of rotation and the step from the video. -->
