Kettlebell Reverse Lunges

Stepping back into a lunge under load, building single-leg strength and balance for a stable lower body.

lungebalance

Why it matters for golf

The rear step loads the front hip hard while demanding balance, which builds the single-leg strength a golfer posts on through impact. It is also easier on the knees than forward lunging, so it loads well at every level.

Coaching cues

  • Step back far enough for both knees to reach 90 degrees.
  • Drop the back knee straight down.
  • Keep the chest tall and the front foot flat.
  • Drive through the front heel to stand.

Common faults

  • Pushing off the back toes instead of driving the front leg.
  • Torso pitching forward on the way up.
  • Front knee wobbling inward.
