Why it matters for golf

This is a landmine row variation. Rowing off the anchored bar builds upper back and lat strength while the trunk holds its position, the strength a golfer needs to keep posture through the swing.

Coaching cues

  • Hinge and set a flat back before you pull.
  • Row the bar to the torso.
  • Squeeze the shoulder blades at the top.
  • Lower under control.

Common faults

  • Standing up out of the hinge to finish the pull.
  • Rounding the back.
  • Yanking reps with momentum.
