Why it matters for golf
A specific form of the Deadlift that focuses on the Hamstrings and Posterior Chain.
Very important for Hip and Spinal health which will not only help you play better golf, you'll also increase your longevity.
How to perform
- Take a standard Deadlift setup to the bar and bring it to the Hip.
- Lower down to a mid-Shin level with minimal Knee bend, focusing on stretching and loading the Hamstrings.
- When you find your end range of motion, fire the Glutes to perform the concentric side of the lift with speed and power.
- Reset, brace through your breathing and repeat.
Alternatives
This is a loading pattern that requires the correct load to be performed well, look to start with Dumbbells to learn the movement or switch down to Bands for variable tension and movement quality.
