Squat Hamstring

Cycle between a deep squat and a straight-leg hamstring stretch, opening hips and hamstrings in one linked drill.

Why it matters for golf

Sitting into a squat opens the hips and ankles, and straightening the legs from the bottom lengthens the hamstrings. Cycling between the two builds the range for a stable, hinged setup. It covers two of the most common golfer restrictions in one drill.

Coaching cues

  • Sink into the squat with the chest up and heels down.
  • Straighten the knees slow and keep the fold.
  • Exhale as the legs lengthen.
  • Pause in each position. No bouncing between them.

Common faults

  • Heels lifting in the squat.
  • Bouncing between positions.
  • Straining the lower back instead of feeling the hamstrings.
<!-- VERIFY against video: assumed a squat-to-stand hamstring cycle; confirm the actual sequence. -->
